Celebrating 60 years of the creation of Fritz Hansen's 7th. Chair, our studio was invited by the company along with 6 other "cool architects" to put our personal mark on the iconic chair, invented by Arne Jacobsen in 1955.

Since the original chair was not thought for any specific use or market, Fritz Hansen wanted each of the 7 invited studios to imprint their own aesthetics, according to their different backgrounds and their own personal view on architecture. We were honored to expose our design in a touring exhibition that started in Gent, Belgium and went on to travel to London, Tokyo and Montevideo, among other cities. Jean Nouvel Design, Zaha Hadid, BIG, Jun Igarashi, Neri & Hu and Snøhetta were our fellow invited architects on this challenging, yet enjoyable project.

Our design was inspired by the "Celebra Building", designed and constructed by Carlos Ott in association with Carlos Ponce de León Architects. The building is characterized by its curved shape and vertical garden, and includes a restaurant with a direct view to the garden. Since the chair was thought to be used in the restaurant, we had in mind the garden's curves and colors, and mimicked them directly on the chair using tonal fabrics and curved pieces.
